The drugstore is my favorite place to shop for makeup. While makeup is very subjective, we feel confident recommending Tarte as our Best Overall concealer. The warmth of your fingers makes this concealer feel extra creamy when applying, but you may use a damp sponge or a brush to good effect. But if you apply it to one under-eye at a time and blend out as you go, you’re golden. This concealer dries quickly and may look a little cakey if you put it on too thickly. If you want to sheer it out, try dabbing the wand tip on the back of your hand, picking up a little bit on your ring finger, and blending it out under your eyes or on top of your blemishes. You can get full coverage with a single swipe of the larger doe-foot applicator. She still loves it, even as her preferences have shifted to more natural makeup. Our main tester began using Tarte as part of full-coverage makeup to cover up acne scarring. The long-wearing concealer boasts a full coverage, satin-matte formula and a 16-hour wear time, and its shades range from “very fair with pink undertones” to “very deep with peach undertones.” In our experience, choosing the correct shade is easy, and it perfectly matches what is described on the bottle. I think this product will work well for those with dry skin, since it is hydrating - however keep in mind it must be set to truly perform. For its legions of happy users, Tarte Shape Tape is practically synonymous with “concealer.” After testing it, we see why. This product does work when baking, but once again, the amount of hydration does not really work well with my oily skin. When I used this product without setting it, my under eyes creased badly and were an oily mess. It did look well in pictures as well and I did not notice any flashback, which was a plus. I did need to set this concealer with loose setting powder for it to stay put and not crease, especially with my oily skin. It's definitely opposite from Shape Tape. This concealer has great coverage and provides a dewy, hydrated finish, however it is very thick. Sometimes with larger applicators, it's easy to get out of hand and apply too much. I really enjoy the skinny applicator, making it easier to control the amount of product you want to apply. When I first used this concealer, I didn't know what to expect. When swatching this, I noticed that the concealer was on the dewy side, similar to the Kylie Cosmetics Skin one. Tarte previously released these concealers in a squeeze tube.Īccording to the Tarte Cosmetics website, the formula is vegan, waterproof, full coverage, hydrates the under eyes for 16 hours and has Vitamin C. This product has a skinnier applicator compared to the Too Faced one. In the Tarte Creaseless Concealer, I chose the shade fair light neutral. The coverage is truly incredible and my under eyes felt comfortable and did not feel dry at all. As a result, I feel this product works best when set. I baked my under eyes on another occasion and liked the outcome as well. however I did notice some creasing, since I had not set the concealer. On another occasion, when using this product, I did not set it, and went out in the humid weather. I have a picture on my IG using the product. With a photo test, I did not notice any flashback. Most importantly my under eyes looked natural, not cakey, while being very full coverage. The first time I used this, I did set my under eyes with Laura Mercier setting powder, but did not bake and the product stayed put. For instance, when I sometimes use Shape Tape, I feel my under eyes get a bit dry and with this Too Faced formula, I felt they were hydrated. The super coverage claim definitely did not lie.Ĭonsistency-wise, it felt a bit thicker than the Tarte Shape Tape but much lighter on my under eyes, if that makes sense. When I first applied the product under my eyes, I noticed that a little certainly went a long way. The Too Faced concealer has a large doe foot applicator, similar to the Clinique Beyond Perfecting foundation. Too Faced does have another concealer in the Born This Way line, however that one is dewy and not as full coverage. Oz., and comes in a large glass bottle, almost like a mini foundation one. It also claims to provide a hydrated photo-ready complexion, with no flashback and is said to last 12 hours. There are 20 shades available.Īccording to the site, the concealer has super coverage, (which immediately caught my eye), fully loaded pigments, can be used to conceal, contour, highlight, and retouch. In the new Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer I chose the shade Vanilla for my skintone.
